Conditions of Entry

 

  1. This Show is a qualifier for the Ponies (uk) 2010 Summer Championship Show, to be held on the 11th – 14th August 2010 at Newark and Notts Showground, Newark. NG24 2NY.
  2. Qualification for Summer National Championships.
  3. Qualification cards will NOT be presented in the ring.

    1st, 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in ALL summer Championships will qualify for the 2010P(uk)

    Summer National Championship

    Competitors in qualifying positions, who are NOT current members of P(uk) are allowed 14 days in

    which to become members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid.

  4. P(uk) Pollyanna Home Produced Summer Championships
  5. These classes are open to horses and ponies that have been stabled at home since 1st August 2009. DIY livery is acceptable providing it is not in the establishment of a professional show producer/trainer. Horses/ponies entering these championships must be owned, produced, ridden or led by the owner/spouse or his/her son/daughter/grandchild. It is expected that the exhibitors’ will enter into the true spirit of this Competition. The directors reserve the right in, their absolute discretion, to refuse and exhibitors entry should they be in contravention of this rule in the directors’ opinion. Trainers & professional producers must not enter the judging arena at any time.

    1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ponies/horses in ALL 2010 Summer Pollyanna Home Produced Qualifiers will qualify for the 2010 P(uk) Summer Championships.

    Qualification cards will NOT be presented in the ring.

    Once qualified if the rider/ handler is not a current member with Ponies Association (UK), they have 14 days in order to become an "A"/Senior/Junior Riders Club Member in order for the qualification to remain valid.

  6. P(uk) Pollyanna Amateur Riders Summer Championships
  7. Open to riders who for showing purposes have not engaged in a training programme for riders/horses/ponies, livery, buying, selling or dealing of horses/ponies as a means of deriving a source of income since 1st August 2009. Riders who have qualified for RIHS, HOYS or OLYMPIA in 2008 or 2009 are not eligible for the Pollyanna Amateur Riders Qualifiers.

    1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ponies/horses in ALL 2010 Pollyanna Amateur Riders Qualifiers will qualify for the 2010 P(uk) Summer Championships

    Qualification cards will NOT be presented in the ring

    Once qualified if the rider/ handler is not a current member with Ponies Association (UK), they have 14 days in order to become an "A"/Senior/Junior Riders Club Member in order for the qualification to remain valid.

  8. P(uk) Pollyanna Confined Novice Championship
  9. These classes are for horses and ponies that have not won a first prize of £10 or more in any Open (relevant) class before 1st January in the current year.

    1st,2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in all 2010 Summer Pollyanna Confined Novice Qualifiers will qualify for the 2010 P(uk) Summer Championships.

    Qualification cards will NOT be presented in the ring

    Once qualified if the rider/handler is not a current member with Ponies Association (UK), they have 14 days in order to become an "A"/Senior /Junior Riders Club Member in order for the qualification to remain valid.

  10. Stallions not exceeding 138cms or Small breed M&M stallions may not be ridden/led by juniors who have not attained their 12th birthday before 1st January of the current year. Stallions exceeding 138cms or large breed M&M stallions may not be ridden/led by any junior who has not attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
  11. RIHS Young Riders Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship

To be judged according to the rules and regulations of Ponies Association (UK).

Owners, Riders MUST be current P(uk) Annual/Senior/Junior Riders Club Members and the ponies currently registered with P(uk) before the date of the show in order to compete in these classes.

Open to Mountain & Moorland Ridden Stallion (Intermediate classes only), Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over. Registered in their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dartmoor, Dales, Exmoor, Fells, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A,B,C or D. All ponies that qualify for the final must have a valid & current JMB Height Certificate. 1st & 2nd placed competitors in each class at the final MUST compete in the P(uk) Young Riders M&M Ridden Supreme Championship or their prize money will be withheld.

The highest places exhibit not already qualified within the first five will qualify for the RIHS Young Riders M&M Ridden Final.

 

This show is a qualifier for The NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 4th – 6th August 2010. Classes are judged under the rules and regulations of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective M&M stud books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitors are opened to ponies owned by NPS members and non members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the Final of the competition. The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class goes forward to the final. Where the pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member and has not qualified received the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than 3rd place. Judges and/or stewards are requested to check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes. NPS adult/standard members will be required to upgrade to adult/showing members to enter the Final. NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championship: These classes are judged under the rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the riders/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the reserve champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of the pony of a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than 1st reserve. Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships.

NPS/Kilmannan Stud M&M In hand silver medal championship: A silver medal rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the M&M In Hand section. The Sponsor’s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the Qualification Card. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in either the NPS/Kilmannan Stud M&M In-Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship in Malvern, or at the Championship Show in Scotland. Qualifiers may only compete in ONE Kilmannan final.

NPS/www.horsequest.co.uk M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship: A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the M&M ridden section.

In Mountain & Moorland classes riders of stallions MUST be 11 years & over when riding small breeds. For large breeds riders of stallions MUST be 14years & over. Handlers of stallions or colts MUST be 14 years & over.

Class 32: Ridden Veteran

Open Mixed Age – Ridden. 15 years and over. Highest within each age group: 15-19: 20-24: 25 & over will qualify.

No foals, spurs, galloping, or wearing of face/body jewellery permitted. Minimum age of handlers for stallions (ridden) is 16 years of age.

The Veteran Horse Showing Ltd Olympia Area Qualifiers are open to both Members and Non Members of the Veteran Horse Showing/Society.

Please not that all competitors should acquaint themselves with the rules of the VHS, they can be found at www.veteran-horse-showing.co.uk That ONLY Veteran Horse Society Members are eligible to compete in the Regional Championship. Qualification cards will ONLY be given to the first 3 Members with their VHS Membership/Horse Registration Cards/covering Letter from Show Office. The Regional winners will go on to compete at the Veteran Horse Showing Ltd Championship Supreme Final at the London International Horse Show at Olympia in December kindly sponsored by Dodson and Horrell.

If one of these has already qualified the 4th placed horse can qualify providing they have a clear round in the jumping phase. To be eligible for the Final either the rider or owner of the horse must be a member of the British Horse Society. Rules and Regulations.

 

  1. Cheques should be made payable to : "Scottish Friends of P(uk)" . Entries MUST include the correct fee to be accepted otherwise they will be returned to Sender. No telephone entries will be accepted.
  2. The Committee reserves the right to combine any classes in the event of insufficient entries or split the class in the event of over subscribed entries.
  3. Whilst every effort had been made to avoid classes clashing- NO class will be held up, the abiding rules of P(uk) 2009 will be adhered to – once the ridden class has started to trot no one may enter the ring, no in hand may enter once the last horse has finished its individual trot.
  4. The Judges decision is FINAL.
  5. Any objections that arise MUST be lodged with the Secretary along with a £25.00 deposit up to ½ hr following the event concerned. The deposit will be returned if the objection is sustained.
  6. ALL animals MUST be sound. If in the opinion of the Judge, an animal is considered to be unsound it will be asked to leave the ring.
  7. ALL persons while riding MUST wear a correctly secured hat which conforms to current approved BSI standards.
  8. Scottish Friends of P(uk) open show or any of its Officials shall not be in any way responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may happen to exhibitors or their assistants, nor any members of the public or to any animal, vehicle brought onto the showground. It is strongly recommended that ALL exhibitors carry adequate Public Liability Insurance. The Scottish Friends of P(uk) Show does not accept any liability for any injury or damage sustained by any third party whatsoever.
  9. Trophies are perpetual and the winner of any cup or trophy is responsible for its safe return to the Show Secretary in time for the following years show. ALL trophies are the property of the Show.
  10. Foul language or abusive behaviour towards people or animals will NOT be tolerated, and will result in expulsion from the Show ground.
  11. Dogs MUST be kept on leads at all times
  12. Competitors are required to take home any rubbish as a matter of courtesy.
  13. Medical and First Aid cover will be available for the duration of the show
  14. No Farrier /Vet will be available.
  15. Acceptance of the foregoing provisions will be a condition of entry.
